a very annoying place to be
why does everything have to emerge from visions ?

some of the words/phrases i choose to associate with it:

escapism
defiance
cowardice
utopia & hetrotopia
forgs in a well
philosophical bullcrap
the "mother" ( i mean no offence)
overly exaggereted
obcession
cantileverd staircases
solar passive!!!!!!!!!

and,
its a place where people happily deny the exisistance of the globe we call "earth"
its a utopia designed back in the 60s i guess.... and they are living in it today as well !
i mean come on !
50 years on they are still trying to realise th utopia as it it .. it hasnt changed/morphed with time
its supposed to be a city of 50,000 (correct me if i am wrong) and today half a century later its only 2000 strong
i wonder how people happily live/co-exisist in that huge jungle which they want to make a global city!!!

after an evening of cricket, got to know that the iceman had won ... i jumped all over wanted to shout out loud ... was very happy .. saddened that i missed the race !!

madurai revealed itself in layers..

theres much more to the city than the iconic meenakshi temple itself

the city owes its exisistence to the temple as it grew as a temple city with layers of walls with taller gopurams and the fort wall enclosing the "temple" and a royal palace.

the newer parts of the city seem to be having a direction and an imagination for itself.

the city as a whole is not chaotic.

the newer strcuctures like the chettinad cement building ( last image) are damn nice ! discovered by ari n i on a late night walk, the building is quite cool, it says that it is a cement building, has a presence on the junction, it is much more than a monument.

reaching madurai seemed far fetched while on-board the nagercoil express .. leaving all the construction, wd, etc. behind seemed very relaxing.

the sop ios in charkop village n the make of the idol is a family run profeesion in satara, which i m guessing is pretty close to wai,nr mahabaleshwar.

seeing all the idols there, it looked like a lot of love,care and devotion of the family, had gone into each and every one of them.

after having seen an architectural solution to the "beautification of the JUHU beach ," by a "leading" architect ... i was quite shocked !
nothing that has been carried out according to me requires knowldege and experience in this discipline. it seems more of a random solution to exactly what the authority wanted , a thoughtless strategy done as charity ?
u must be wondering why i bring this up after such a long time .... wel it is after i read a news paper article which said that he wants 116 trees hacked at the gateway plaza .. ?? !! my god ! why doesnt he just clean the whole thing up so ppl driving by can see the monument !!

also i wonder how come he along with intch have been bagging all the beautification projects ...i read that he is re doing the dadar chowpatty also ... what will he do ... demolish the buildings and rehouse ppl so wen dribing on the trafficked caddell road u can see the beach !! @#$% !!!!!!

its disgustiing .........

what is more ... the architectural solution for the juhu beach .. with a so called food court .. has left that portion of the beach even dirtier !!
since the stall owners have no place to conduct their affairs the seat their customers outside and wash utensils there ...

is this the brain child of a respected individual ..... hmm... with the banning of street food in delhi .. i fear the same for mumbai .... no more bhaiyyaji ... n no more awesome pulav at dalal street !! is this the solution ... ???????

and please ....pray .. i hope he doesnt get the permission to hack 116 very old well nurtured trees ......
