after having seen an architectural solution to the "beautification of the JUHU beach ," by a "leading" architect ... i was quite shocked !
nothing that has been carried out according to me requires knowldege and experience in this discipline. it seems more of a random solution to exactly what the authority wanted , a thoughtless strategy done as charity ?
u must be wondering why i bring this up after such a long time .... wel it is after i read a news paper article which said that he wants 116 trees hacked at the gateway plaza .. ?? !! my god ! why doesnt he just clean the whole thing up so ppl driving by can see the monument !!

also i wonder how come he along with intch have been bagging all the beautification projects ...i read that he is re doing the dadar chowpatty also ... what will he do ... demolish the buildings and rehouse ppl so wen dribing on the trafficked caddell road u can see the beach !! @#$% !!!!!!

what is more ... the architectural solution for the juhu beach .. with a so called food court .. has left that portion of the beach even dirtier !!
since the stall owners have no place to conduct their affairs the seat their customers outside and wash utensils there ...

is this the brain child of a respected individual ..... hmm... with the banning of street food in delhi .. i fear the same for mumbai .... no more bhaiyyaji ... n no more awesome pulav at dalal street !! is this the solution ... ???????

some or all of the criteria for the drawings atleast were met by the class...
in comes our faculty... 5 strong heads ... 2 wanting to do it their "way" and the hungry juror his ....
so everyone is standing at their places as instructed ... and a faculty member ( cool dude wearing heels !!) who hardly ever shows up in college is marking the whole class internally ...
in comes the jury ... a hungry fellow ... all he says ( i mean the intelligent stuff relevant to what he was doing in college ) the cappucino is great .. boss aur ek cup milega ? then , staring at a plate of upma.... " i havent had breakfast " !!! wtf ??

thats that ...

i discover amongst the jury is a lady who has been told not to contradict herself by an outsider on more that one occassion ( once myself too !!)
one guy reminds me of kaiwan ... and another lady i do not know...
and off course the hungry guy ..

the walk through jury is reduced to design critts .. just like what we get on the table with our respective guides .... the only (seemingly ? ) intelligent guy is busy eating or just walking coz he has been told its a walk thru ..
and the self explanatory sheets start speaking a language that is alien to the fantastic four !!

what re ... we are asked to explain things tht are already there thru models and/or drawings ...

at the end of the day 2 comments wrapped up the jury for me ... i felt disgusted at the end of what had just occured...
1. you should have spend more time in making ur building look good, and less in design delevopment

2. you have no process.. i would have failed you if your building wasnt as nice ...

both by the hungry guy .....
the hungry guy dint read the brief .. and doesnt know wat the aims of the studio are : " its not just making beautiful buildings .... things have changed since u left col .. "
